Canal

Franklin Canal with I-10 overpass in the background. The canal is a significant water control element along the U.S.-México border. Irrigation happens on both sides of the river. People shape the river, and the canal shapes development in both countries.

I made this image crossing a pedestrian bridge to the El Paso Zoo. I saw the small, artificial version of the Chihuahuan Desert situated within the vast, actual Chihuahuan Desert. About a year later, I heard this canal would be paved.
